Harvey Reid

Since Jan 2005, Harvey has been performing
with a "slightly custom" cocobola wood  JOMC cutaway .

About Harvey:

"...one of the true treasures of American acoustic music." ACOUSTIC GUITAR MAGAZINE

"Reid is truly a giant of the steel strings...wonderful twists of originality and emotional depth... a wealth of techniques and ideas."
GUITAR PLAYER MAGAZINE.

We are proud to say that fellow Maine resident, multi instrumentalist, wonderful songwriter, wizard of strings and possessor of a huge and creative brain, Harvey Reid has been a supporter and player of Bourgeois guitars for some time now.

He has also been a fine instigator of an interesting project or two that he has convinced Dana to undertake!

Harvey Reid is the modern day version of an ancient minstral.  He has been making records
for some 30 years and way back in 1981 he was the winner of the National Fingerpicking Guitar Competion at Winfield.  He is a commanding player and performer who has added a great wealth to the cannon of American Music.

He is also consumed with facsinating minutia about all things musical. You can get lost for days on his website or in his yearly Holiday newsletter!  Can you tell we love him?

One of his more recent offerings is a remarkable 4 CD set called "The Song Train" that Harvey and the fine fiddler, guitar player, singer songwriter, Joyce Anderson put out in 2007 called "The Song Train".

56 songs along with an 80 page color hardback book.  A beautiful collection.  Learn about it here:

And finally, from Harvey,

ON THE RECESSION:

“There is hardly a better way to spend time during an ‘economic downturn’ than banging on a guitar, and this has worked for folks for centuries.

Music has always flourished in hard times, and either playing it or listening to it can be therapeutic.” - Musician: Harvey Reid

Our sentiments exactly.
