Skip Cherryholmes of the Grammy nominated band Cherryholmes plays our guitars a couple hundred nights per year and we are really proud of that.  You can hear his D-150 and his A-350 on the new  CD " Cherryholmes II Black and White"  released by Skaggs Family Records on June 12th.

This latest album debuted at #1 on Billboard's Top

Bluegrass Album chart.

Here's what "No Depression" magazine (July / August edition)  said about their performance at Merlefest this year :

“As skies cleared, the music found traction and a band ready to heat things up plugged in.  The night would belong to Cherryholmes.  A genuine family band, these six players each carry a distinct musical voice, yet the group sound was as tight as any that graced the Watson Stage.  B.J.’s fiery fiddle, Cia’s accomplished banjo and vocals, and mama Sandy Lee’s supple yodel ignited a cold, wet crowd.”

We built a very special guitar for Jere Cherryholmes too.  See his Brazilian 12 fret DS-260 in the picture above.

About Cherryholmes:

The harmonizing, hard pickin', rhinestone outfitted family band known as Cherryholmes exploded on the scene in 2005 with their self-titled debut album for Skaggs Family Records, IBMA Award for Entertainer of the Year, and a Grammy nomination for Best Bluegrass Album. With an electrifying new album, Cherryholmes II Black and White, Jere, Sandy, Cia, B.J., Skip, and Molly are ready to take the bluegrass world by storm all over again. The hard-driving crowd pleaser, "I Don't Know", the Celtic tones of "My True Love", and the wise warning of "Greedy Hands" demonstrate the talent the Cherryholmes family has as contemporary songwriters, while their interpretations of classics such as "I'll Never Shed Another Tear" and the instrumental "Darkness on the Delta" reflect their deep respect for the roots of bluegrass music. New tunes by contributing songwriters also flow throughout the album – the most stirring of these is title track, "Black and White" with Sonya Isaacs doing double-duty as songwriter and background vocalist along with bluegrass ambassador Ricky Skaggs. Affectionately known as one of the hardest working families in bluegrass, Cherryholmes continuously polishes their craft, shining brighter with each new release."
