NASHVILLE, TN - Ricky Skaggs and Alison Krauss hosted the IBMA Awards this year in Nashville. The celebration included performances by many great acts appearing on stage at the Ryman to a sold-out crowd and heard by a worldwide radio audience.

Among those honored were several Bourgeois endorsers and we were sure proud to hear our guitars up there on the beloved Ryman stage.

Cherryholmes took home the Entertainer of the Year award at the 16th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards. Cherryholmes was the first group in the history of the awards to be simultaneously nominated for Entertainer of the Year and Emerging Artist of the Year. Skip Cherryholmes the 17 year old flatpicker of the group picked up his Brazilian Bourgeois D-150 last August and has declared it the best guitar ever.

Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder remain on top with their seventh win for Instrumental Group of the Year. And if you have ever seen those guys live, you know why.

Guitar great and Bourgeois endorser, Bryan Sutton received the Guitar Player of the Year award for the fourth time in his career.

Dan Tyminiski of Union Station played his brand new Vintage D / Madagascar Rosewood at the awards show and Ricky Skaggs had "Old Liberace", his Fancy Brazilian Presentation Model. We also saw Keith Sewell (Dixie Chicks, Jerry Douglas and Sam Bush) at the party after the Awards show and he told us he has been playing his Country Boy Dlx every night on the road with Sam Bush.

Additionally, we saw a great many hot bluegrass players picking their Bourgeois guitars at the many performance stages throughout the convention. Including The Greencards, The Cherryholmes, The Creaking Tree String Quartet (Canada), Fragment (Slovakia) and The Fritts Family Band. These great young players make us really proud.

Congratulations to all the many fine artists at IBMA this year, both nominees and winners.
