Pantheon Guitars announces the Bourgeois DS-260.

LEWISTON, ME – August 30, 2004 - Pantheon Guitars announces the addition of the Bourgeois DS-260 to its line of premium acoustic guitars.   By adopting design elements from the earliest years of fine guitar construction, Dana Bourgeois has developed the 12 Fret Slothead DS-260 based on the popular Bourgeois Slope D model.  Each piece is built in Pantheon's Lewiston, Maine shop by Dana Bourgeois and his team of seven craftsmen.  The DS-260 is based on the Bourgeois model used on stage and on recordings by Dan Tyminski of Union Station. 

The DS-260 embodies the simple elegance and grace players have come to expect from vintage versions, but with the added dimension of Bourgeois' quality craftsmanship and sound.  The deep, rich tone is enhanced by a red spruce "adirondack" top and Indian Rosewood sides and back.  The 12 Fret design puts the sound hole closer to the waist of the guitar and the bridge farther down on the lower bout.   Placement of the bridge at this wider location on the lower bout  provides a loose, open quality to the sound.  The Ebony Belly bridge is able to drive the top from the widest point on the body.   The 1 3/4" neck has an Ebony board, Squares & Diamond inlay and Side Mount Waverly tuners.  With Herringbone & Ivoroid body binding and a matching herringbone backstrip and rosette.  Options are available including Brazilian,  Honduran rosewood and Madagascar rosewood.  (List price: $3695)
