 DS-260 12 Fret Standard

 

By adopting design elements from the earliest years of fine guitar construction, Dana Bourgeois developed the 12 Fret Slothead DS-260 based on his popular Bourgeois Slope D model. 

The DS-260 embodies the simple elegance and grace players have come to expect from vintage versions, but with the added dimension of Bourgeois' quality craftsmanship and sound. The deep, rich tone is enhanced by a red spruce "adirondack" top and Indian Rosewood sides and back. The 12 Fret design puts the sound hole closer to the waist of the guitar and the bridge farther down on the lower bout. Placement of the bridge at this wider location on the lower bout provides a loose, open quality to the sound. The Ebony Belly bridge is able to drive the top from the widest point on the body. The 1 3/4" neck has an Ebony board, Squares & Diamond inlay and 3-On -A- Plate Side Mount Waverly tuners. With Herringbone & Ivoroid body binding and a matching herringbone backstrip and rosette. Options are available including Brazilian, Mahogany, Walnut, Honduran rosewood and Madagascar rosewood as well as a variety of top woods.  

Except as noted, all Bourgeois models include the following features: 25.5" Scale Length, One piece Mahogany Neck,  Bone Nut & Saddle, Ebony Fretboard & Bridge, High Gloss Body and Satin Neck Finish, Mother of Pearl Bourgeois headstock inlay, Bourgeois Premium Tortoiseshell style pickguard, Ivoroid Bridge and Ed Pins, Deluxe Hardshell Case and a Limited Lifetime Warranty.  A variety of optional tonewoods, appointments, hardware and finishes are also available.
